About me

I have to write – absolutely have to. I started young with a flair for description but a short attention span; beautifully crafted plots with dashing knights and spunky princesses would suddenly end on page 2 when a bus fell on their heads. As time went on, my ability to focus increased and I have now written three novels and one non-fiction book, had two short films produced and short stories published in magazines, and been published in the Whitstable Women Writers anthology, Place, and the Writers of Whitstable anthology A Different Kind of Kent.

In 2014, I was published with a photographic book on Whitstable, Whitstable Through Time, detailing changes in the town through pairs of images. See the My Books page of this blog for details of how to order. My first novel, From This Day Forward, was published in November 2017 and my second, Catch, Pull, Push, in May 2018.

My second love is photography, of all kinds. From sharing a couple’s wedding day, to seeing my images for sale in Debenhams and in art galleries, or on banners in shopping centres, or producing beautiful pictures of children for their parents to cry over, it’s all a joy.

Other than that, I love my husband and my children (should I have mentioned them first?!), the rest of my family, my friends, my teaching, my house, holidays, (in short, my life) and I will always always love the big black lovable beast that was Bert.
